Fixed-mounted hydraulic crane course

To operate a fixed-mounted hydraulic crane, both basic and specialized training are required. Our course package in G11 and G20 provides you with documented safety training as a hooker and crane operator, combined with a certificate of competence that qualifies you to operate a fixed-mounted hydraulic crane safely and effectively.

Why take a crane operator course?

The G11 theory course is fundamental for all crane operator training. Furthermore, G20 provides basic safety training for operators on fixed-mounted hydraulic cranes.

This course is suitable for those who will work with lifting operations, load handling or crane use in construction, industry or transport. With the combination of the sling and hooker course (G11) and the crane operator course on fixed-mounted hydraulic cranes (G20), you will receive:

  • Basic HSE and regulations for hookers and crane operators
  • Knowledge of slings, lifting equipment and signaling
  • Safety understanding and risk assessment related to lifting operations
  • Theory and practice in hydraulics, mechanics and crane types
  • Competence in preventing accidents and handling the crane correctly
  • Certificate of competence G11 and G20 after passing the course

Duration and content

The training is conducted in accordance with legislation and curricula. It consists of 4-5 days of theory, practice and final exams. To participate, you must have completed Module 1, which can be taken digitally before the start of the course. You choose in the registration form whether you need this.

Certificate of Competence: G11-Lifting Equipment

The course covers modules 1.1 and 2.3

The purpose of the course is to give hookers and future crane operators a thorough theoretical introduction to the use of cranes. The theory course is fundamental to all crane operator training.

In the course we review:

  • Basic HSE
  • Requirements for hookers/crane operators
  • Slings and lifting equipment
  • Accidents, construction and operation
  • Inspection
  • Reporting and maintenance
  • Use and safety regulations

Once the theory has been passed, practical training must be carried out, which can be carried out at SSGR.

A certificate of competence is issued when the theory and practice have been passed.

Certificate of Competence: G20 Crane Operator Course

The course provides basic safety training for operators of fixed-mounted hydraulic cranes. The aim is for the person receiving training to acquire basic theoretical knowledge about the safe use of fixed-mounted hydraulic cranes, so that accidents during use are avoided.

In the course we review (20 hours):

  • Safety regulations
  • Hydraulics
  • Mechanics
  • Certification
  • Load diagram
  • Crane types
  • Maintenance
  • Signals
  • Final exam

* The requirement for prior knowledge is G11 Strap and signal certified training.

After completing the theory course and practical use module at the G20 course, the participant must have practical training on the G20 fixed hydraulic crane. This training can be taken together with a sponsor in your own company (40 hours), or at Hesselberg for 24 hours before start-up.

Practical information

  • The course follows recognized curricula.
  • Course materials, exercises and compendiums are included.
  • Concludes with a theoretical and practical exam.
  • Certificate of competency is registered in a recognized register and is valid nationally.
