Description

The Manitou 160 ATJ is a diesel-powered mobile elevating work platform from Manitou in the boom lift category, more specifically an articulating boom lift. An articulating boom lift has a hinged arm with one or more knuckle joints that can reach around obstacles, over edges and into areas that are difficult to access, unlike a scissor lift which only lifts straight up.

The 160 ATJ is typically used for tasks where the operator needs to reach places that are difficult to access from the ground. This includes maintenance and cleaning of facades, work on roofs and cornices, installation and inspection of technical installations, tree care and pruning, and other outdoor tasks where the machine needs to move between working positions.

ATJ is Manitou's series of all-terrain articulating boom lifts, and 160 refers to the working height of 16 metres. The machine has a working height of 16.02 metres, a maximum horizontal outreach of 8.30 metres and an overhang of 7.40 metres. The basket has a capacity of 230 kg and up to 2 persons. Four-wheel drive, foam-filled tyres and a robust all-terrain chassis make it suited for outdoor work on uneven, muddy or soft ground.

The 160 ATJ is available in several variants. The standard model is the right choice for most outdoor tasks.

The 160 ATJ RC is equipped with continuous turret rotation, providing unlimited swing radius and making positioning easier where the machine cannot be moved between working operations.

The 160 ATJ+ is a larger variant with a working height of 16.21 metres and an outreach of 8.52 metres, and the basket holds up to 3 persons and 408 kg, the choice where several operators need to work from the basket simultaneously or where heavier equipment needs to be lifted.

The 160 ATJ+ RC combines the larger basket with continuous turret rotation, the choice where you need both capacity for multiple operators and unlimited swing freedom without moving the machine.

All models are equipped with Manitou's Secondary Protection System (SPS), a safety cable in front of the control panel that stops the machine immediately upon unintended contact and reduces the risk of crush injuries.

If you need greater working height, the 180 ATJ is an option with up to 18.18 metres working height and a larger outreach. If you want electric drive in the same class as the 160 ATJ+, the 160 ATJ+ e is available with the same working height and capacity but with a 100% electric motor, making it suited for indoor use where emission-free operation is a requirement.

Operating a mobile elevating work platform of this type requires a valid certificate, which can be obtained through a course with us. The course can be held in both Norwegian and English.
