Description
The 170 AETJ-L is an electric mobile elevating work platform from Manitou, of the boom lift type.
It belongs to the AETJ series among Manitou's mobile elevating work platforms, Manitou's range of electric articulating boom lifts for industrial use on level surfaces.
AETJ stands for Articulated Electric Telescopic Jib. The number 170 refers to the working height of approximately 17 metres, and L stands for Large outreach, meaning extended horizontal reach.
Outreach is the 170 AETJ-L's primary strength. With 9 metres of horizontal outreach, the operator can reach far from the machine's position without moving it, which is particularly valuable in production environments where the machine cannot move freely.
Compared to the 150 AETJ-C, the L model provides 2 metres of additional working height and nearly 2 metres of additional outreach, in exchange for a slightly wider machine (1.75 m versus 1.50 m).
As an articulating boom lift it can reach around obstacles and over edges, distinguishing it from vertical boom lifts such as the 100 VJR. Non-marking tyres protect the surface, and the battery lasts a full working day.
