Description
The Komatsu PC26MR is a compact 2.6-tonne short-tail mini excavator designed for confined areas such as yards, road works, demolition sites and sewer trenches. It is sturdy and very stable, giving the operator confidence in a wide range of working conditions. Compared with the PC24MR, it is somewhat heavier and suits slightly more demanding jobs.
In the model name, PC stands for Komatsu’s crawler excavators, and the number 26 refers to the size class of around 2.6 tonnes.
Komatsu PC26MR specifications and weight:
The PC26MR-5 has an engine power of 15.8 kW (21.2 hp), an operating weight from 2,625 to 2,855 kg and a bucket capacity of 0.035–0.085 m³. For full dimensions and technical data, see the data sheet or the supplier’s PC26MR-5 product page, and explore more options among Komatsu’s mini excavators.
The hydraulic system is a CLSS (Closed-centre Load Sensing System) with a variable displacement pump. It delivers power, speed and precise control for all movements, even when several are used at once, regardless of load or rpm. The machine has dedicated piping for a Lehnhoff Powertilt and a single-effect hydraulic quick coupler line, routed over the arm for better protection.
The cab is more spacious than before, with more leg room, ergonomic PPC controls, efficient ventilation and a wider door for easier access. For added safety, the machine has a dual lock lever neutral detection system for travel and work equipment levers, a seat belt caution indicator and a secondary engine shutdown switch.
The engine bonnets open wide for quick access to daily inspection points. For major maintenance, the front side cover can be removed, with access from ground level. With Komtrax, Komatsu’s wireless monitoring system, you can track the machine, monitor its performance and stay up to date on its status.
For more power and capacity, the PC30MR represents a natural step up. For zero-emission, lower-noise work, see the electric Komatsu PC20E–PC33E.
Operating a mini excavator requires proper training. Hesselberg offers a heavy equipment operator course for certification and skills development.
