Description

The Komatsu PC33E-6 is a compact electric mini excavator in the 3.6-tonne class with a lithium-ion battery, designed for emission-free operation with powerful performance. It has a short tail with a 1,020 mm tail swing radius, and suits indoor work and work outside standard working hours. Compared with the Komatsu PC26E-6, it has higher motor power, higher operating weight and a larger bucket capacity, and suits more demanding jobs.

In the model name, PC stands for Komatsu’s crawler excavators, the number 33 refers to the size class, and the letter E refers to electric drive.

Komatsu PC33E-6 specifications and battery:

The PC33E-6 has a motor power of 17.4 kW, an operating weight of 3.62 tonnes and a bucket capacity of 0.03–0.1 m³. For full dimensions and technical data, see the data sheet or the supplier’s PC33E-6 product page, and explore more options among Komatsu’s mini excavators.

The machine is powered by an electric Komatsu powertrain with a 17.4 kW electric motor and a 35 kWh battery pack with high-voltage (115 V) architecture. The battery is a long-life, high-safety LFP lithium-ion design that fast-charges from 20 to 100% in 1.6 hours with an off-board 400 V fast charger. Komatsu states 40% increased lifting capacity over the side compared with the diesel PC30MR-5.

The PC33E-6 gives zero local emissions and significantly lower noise and vibration levels than the PC30MR-5, and can help you take part in low-carbon projects and meet customers’ environmental obligations. Komatsu also states a CO₂ reduction equivalent to the machine’s own weight over one year, compared with the PC30MR-5.

The machine has proportional control for attachments and adjustable attachment oil flow (option), and can be used with market-compatible hydraulic attachments. The operator seat is air-suspended, and the multi-function monitor has an interface redesigned for electric excavators, with charging status at a glance. The controls are the same as on diesel machines, so the working behaviour feels familiar.

For added safety, the machine has protected electric components, a ROPS (ISO 3471) and OPG (ISO 10262) level 1 canopy, LED working lamps, a dual lock system with neutral position detection, a secondary engine shutdown switch and a seat belt caution indicator.

The electric motor and inverter are air-cooled and maintenance-free, there are fewer daily check and periodic maintenance items, and the floor tilts up for easier service access. New electric powertrain components carry a five-year warranty, and Komatsu’s E-support programme comes as standard.

If you need a diesel model in a similar size, see the PC33MR or the PC38MR.

Operating a mini excavator requires proper training. Hesselberg offers a heavy equipment operator course for certification and skills development.

As a supplier of Komatsu in Norway, Hesselberg offers the full model range, along with a wide selection of excavators for different types of construction work.
