Description

The Komatsu PC58MR is a compact 5.6-tonne-class short-tail mini excavator designed for confined areas such as yards, road works, demolition sites and sewer trenches. It is sturdy and very stable, giving the operator confidence in a wide range of working conditions. Compared with the PC55MR, it has higher operating weight, and suits the most demanding jobs in the mini excavator class.

In the model name, PC stands for Komatsu’s crawler excavators, and the number 58 refers to the size class.

Komatsu PC58MR specifications and weight:

The PC58MR-5 has an engine power of 29.1 kW (39 hp), an operating weight of 5,640 kg, a digging depth of 4.13 m and a bucket capacity of 0.055–0.18 m³. For full dimensions and technical data, see the data sheet or the supplier’s PC58MR-5 product page, and explore more options among Komatsu’s mini excavators.

The hydraulic system is a CLSS (Closed-centre Load Sensing System) with a variable displacement pump. It delivers power, speed and precise control for all movements, even when several are used at once, regardless of load or rpm. The machine has dedicated piping for a Lehnhoff Powertilt and a single-effect hydraulic quick coupler line, routed over the arm for better protection.

The undercarriage has an X-frame, which gives maximum stress resistance and optimal stress distribution. Its shape makes the machine more rigid and reliable, and makes it easier to clean the undercarriage and remove spoils.

A high-definition 3.5-inch LCD monitor gives excellent visibility, showing alerts, machine information, operation records, settings and maintenance data in a simple format. It is little affected by viewing angle or ambient brightness.

The engine bonnets open wide for quick access to daily inspection points, and the engine door and side cover open fully. With Komtrax, Komatsu’s wireless monitoring system, you can track the machine, monitor its performance and stay up to date on its status.

For more power and capacity, the PC80MR represents a natural step up. For zero-emission work in smaller weight classes, see the electric Komatsu PC20E–PC33E.

Operating a mini excavator requires proper training. Hesselberg offers a heavy equipment operator course for certification and skills development.

As a supplier of Komatsu in Norway, Hesselberg offers the full model range, along with a wide selection of excavators for different types of construction work.
