Description
The PC490LC-11 is a powerful crawler excavator from Komatsu with an operating weight of 47,370 to 48,860 kg, built for contractors working with large volumes and demanding ground conditions.
PC stands for Power Crawler. 490 refers to the weight class. LC means Long Carriage, providing maximum stability for heavy lifting and deep excavation. The machine is powered by a 270 kW Stage V engine with a maximum bucket capacity of 3.50 m³ and is also available in a Heavy Duty configuration for the most demanding applications.
Compared to the PC360LC-11, the PC490LC-11 delivers significantly greater lifting capacity, larger bucket capacity and more power for extensive excavation and foundation work. It is well suited to large building projects, infrastructure work and demanding material handling where output per hour is critical. At the same time it remains a more flexible option than the PC700LC-11 when a 70-tonne machine exceeds project requirements.
The HydrauMind closed-centre load-sensing hydraulic system delivers precise control and efficient power transfer under heavy load. KOMTRAX telematics and the Komatsu CARE maintenance programme support efficient fleet management and low operating costs.
You can find the full range of Komatsu excavators at Hesselberg. Operating the PC490LC-11 requires a machine operator's licence, typically class M2. Hesselberg offers heavy equipment operator courses for certification and skills development.
