Description

The PW158-11 is a wheeled excavator from Komatsu with an operating weight of 15,080 to 18,240 kg, built for contractors who need more capacity than the smallest models while retaining high mobility between jobsites.

PW stands for Power Wheeled. 158 refers to the weight class. As a wheeled excavator it can travel independently on public roads without a low-bed trailer, making it efficient for urban and suburban projects with multiple work locations. Compared to a crawler excavator this translates to faster logistics, particularly where jobsites are close together.

Powered by a 110 kW Stage V engine, the PW158-11 delivers good capacity for trenching, utility work, road construction and foundation work. Compared to the PW148-11 it offers greater lifting capacity and more stability when working with heavier attachments and larger buckets. At the same time it remains more compact and manageable than the PW168-11 and PW180-11, making it well suited to projects where both capacity and accessibility are important.

The HydrauMind closed-centre load-sensing hydraulic system automatically adjusts output to match the load, providing smooth and precise control, stable lifting performance and efficient power transfer. KomVision is fitted as standard for all-round visibility, and KOMTRAX telematics and the Komatsu CARE maintenance programme keep operating costs and downtime low.

You can find the full range of Komatsu excavators at Hesselberg. Operating the PW158-11 requires a machine operator's licence, typically class M2. Hesselberg offers heavy equipment operator courses for certification and skills development.
