Komatsu PW160-11

Description

The Komatsu PW160-11 is a wheeled excavator from Komatsu in the 17–19-tonne class, built for contractors who need more stability and lifting capacity than the PW158-11 provides.

PW stands for Power Wheeled. 160 refers to the weight class. As a wheeled excavator it can travel independently on public roads without the need for a low-bed trailer, making it efficient for projects with multiple work locations in urban and suburban areas.

Where the Komatsu PW158-11 is often chosen for utility work and lighter trenching, the PW160-11 is better suited when the project demands greater lifting capacity, more stability and increased reach. It is well suited to larger water and sewage projects, foundation work and more extensive road construction. At the same time it retains all the advantages of a wheeled excavator: fast movement between jobsites and efficient operation on asphalt and firm surfaces.
