Description
The PW190-11 is a wheeled excavator from Komatsu built for contractors who need heavy capacity combined with good mobility between jobsites.
PW stands for Power Wheeled. 190 refers to the weight class of around 17 to 20 tonnes. As a wheeled excavator it can in many cases travel on public roads without a low-bed trailer, giving faster logistics on projects with multiple nearby work locations.
The operating weight ranges from 17,310 to 19,730 kg depending on boom configuration and undercarriage equipment. The machine is powered by a Komatsu SAA4D107E-5 engine delivering 129 kW. The PW190-11 is available with two boom options, mono boom or two-piece boom, and three selectable arm lengths of 2,250 mm, 2,600 mm and 2,900 mm. Digging force is 115 kN, rising to 123 kN with PowerMax active. Maximum bucket capacity is 1.13 m³.
The PW190-11 is well suited to trenching, utility work, road and street construction and heavy lifting operations in urban environments. A distinguishing feature of this model is the optional four-wheel steering, new to the class for heavy wheeled excavators. With four-wheel steering the minimum turning radius is reduced from 6,800 mm to 4,100 mm, giving a clear advantage in narrow streets and confined construction sites. Transport height from 2.73 metres with the two-piece boom makes it straightforward to carry on a standard low-bed trailer.
The HydrauMind closed-centre load-sensing hydraulic system with pressure compensation offers six working modes including lifting, breaker and economy, letting the operator match performance to the task. The machine is factory-prepared for tiltrotator use with an open-centre circuit, enabling simultaneous use of high-demand hydraulic attachments. The engine meets EU Stage V and is HVO-compatible from the factory.
The ROPS-certified SpaceCab is mounted on viscous damper mounts for low vibration, with an in-cab noise level of 69 dB(A). KomVision provides all-round visibility, and KOMTRAX telematics is standard for operational monitoring and planned maintenance.
You can find the full range of Komatsu excavators at Hesselberg. Operating the PW190-11 requires a machine operator's licence, typically class M2. Hesselberg offers heavy equipment operator courses for certification and skills development.
